Airport doodles

The storms in Orlando were so bad that my plane had to land in Tampa and wait it out. The clouds looked like mud.

Movie Sketches and Sketchbook Dump

Trying to get myself back into the drawing game this summer. I’ve been drawing movie stills from this website cinemosaic. Been Screwing around with some color tests too. Conceptually, I kind of hate the idea of adding film effects to my digital animations. But I keep doing it:

These top two drawings are from a movie called Sword of Doom. The next two are from Kwaidan and Jigoku. Cinemosaic’s whole front page was nothing but Japanese Samurai/horror movies. Which is better than the second page of weird British stuff I didn’t really wanna draw.

Bill Duke has been on my to-draw list for fucking months. Drew this from Predator:

Then finally there is some miscellaneous stuff. Some Wendigo drawings and a 2 more style-boards I made today.

I feel like I got my chops back. Now I’m going to start tackling my to-draw list in earnest. I LOVE SUMMER TIME.

SummaTime Walk-cycle

It is unbelievable what my mom has lying around. I was trying to find a way to shoot these frames I drew, and she whipped out a mini copy-stand and lamp out of no where. My room is an exciting mess:

This summer my other classmates and me are HOPEFULLY gonna do some sort of exquisite corpse walk-cycle project. One person draws a walk-cycle, gives the last frame to the next, and that person morphs it into whatever they want, and makes a walk cycle. And so one. Forever. I got it started last night:

I’m re-doing the crane-headed walk cycle from last fall. I done made it better.

Home Again

Got home about 5 days ago. I just finished wrestling a brutal flu, Feeling about 90% today, and my mom just helped me get everything in order so that my room is a streamlined animating tank:

I need to keep animating so I don’t forget everything I’ve learned, but those animation peg-hole punchers cost like $500 bucks. So mom helped me construct some peg-bars that will register standard 3-hole punched paper. Now all I gotta do is make stuff!

BadBloom Animatic

Now that the finished product is done I thought it’d be fun to post the animatic I made months ago. I honestly feel like I ended up rendering a lot of the scenes how I imagined them. Which is rare for me. Feels gooooood.
Summer is here now, time to learn how to draw again, practice animating, lose weight and play Diablo 3.
